Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Here you can find our answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Your preparation begins with slowing down. Take rest, eat lightly and healthily, let go of alcohol, caffeine, and screen time for a while, and make space for silence. You will receive a guide from me with practical tips and reflection questions to help clarify your intention. The natural environment supports you in settling into calm and opening yourself to whatever is ready to unfold.

An intention gives direction to your journey. It is not a goal, but an inner compass—something in your life that is asking for attention. For example: “I want to be gentler with myself.” or “I want to reconnect with what I truly want.” During the journey, your intention helps you remain present with whatever wishes to reveal itself.

After the journey, the integration phase begins. This is the time in which insights and feelings are allowed to settle. Together, we explore what the journey has brought you and how you can anchor this into your daily life.

In the days and weeks following the journey, the process continues to unfold. You may feel more sensitive or emotional, or instead clearer and filled with wonder. Sometimes there is calm and gentleness; at other times, confusion or fatigue—this is all part of the natural reorganization that is taking place. You are growing.

No, a psilocybin journey is not suitable for everyone. While this experience can open many doors, there are clear contraindications. That is why every program begins with an in-depth intake, during which we carefully assess your physical and psychological health, medication use, personal history, and inner capacity.

In cases of certain psychiatric conditions, vulnerability to psychosis, use of specific medications, or other situations in which safety cannot be sufficiently ensured, participation is not advised. Sometimes it is wiser to (for now) choose a different path. Safety, care, and trust are central in everything I do.

Each journey is unique and cannot be predicted in advance. The experience is shaped in part by your intention, inner state, life history, and the context in which the journey takes place.

During a journey, the following experiences may occur, among others:

  • Heightened perception of emotions, images, and bodily sensations
  • Insight into inner patterns, beliefs, or parts of yourself
  • Emotional release, such as sadness, relief, joy, or compassion
  • Memories or experiences connected to earlier life events
  • A sense of connection, meaning, or expanded awareness
  • Moments of confusion, intensity, or resistance

Not every journey feels pleasant or “beautiful.” Sometimes a journey reveals precisely what is asking for attention, acknowledgment, or integration. It may also be that experiences only begin to make sense after the journey.

That is why preparation, guidance during the journey, and integration afterward are essential parts of the program. The journey itself is not an end goal, but part of a carefully guided process.

A psilocybin journey at Roothwize is not a quick fix, nor is it an experience you “just do.” It is also not a spiritual spectacle or a performance in which something needs to be achieved.

The journey invites slowing down, honesty, and inner listening. What opens does so in its own way and subsequently asks for attention and integration into daily life. At Roothwize, the focus is not on the experience itself, but on carefully guiding a process that can continue to influence how you live, feel, and make choices.
